It is importantant to keep your retainer clean, safe and in one piece.

Remove your retainer whenever you are eating, brushing your teeth or flossing. Keep it in the case that your recieved from Dr. Kunik. Try to avoid wrapping it in a napkin or tissue while eating. Use your hard plastic case whenever possible for storing your retainer.

Brush your retainers daily and scrub them before putting them in their case. Develop a habit of brushing the retainer each time your at home brushing your teeth.

At least once a month use warm or cool water and soap. Hot water will warp the retainers. Limit the soaking time to 15 minutes if you choose to use Efferdent. We have found that over time Efferdent can weaken the retainer structure. Brushing with Listerine will decrease bacteria and give your retainer a fresh taste.
