Patient Centered Orthodontics
Kunik Orthodontics is the largest private Invisalign practice in Texas and is ranked #5 worldwide. Since 1991 Kunik Orthodontics has been driven to bring the absolute best orthodontic practices, procedures, and technology to our patients. We continuously look for ways to improve our techniques and apply state-of-the-art aligner technology to the most difficult brace cases. Having performed more than 12,000 orthodontic cases in Austin, Tx, Kunik Orthodontics has the necessary experience to create the optimum orthodontic solution for your perfect smile.
We started with Invisalign in 1999 working on a research project with them on bicuspid extractions. We worked weekly with their engineers, all with no financial relationship. Whether it's Invisalign, standard braces, or lingual treatment, the mode of correction takes a back seat to the outcome and patient preference. The finish has got to be the same quality no matter how we start. But most of the time when patients walk into our office, we know what they want and that they don't want braces. Because of aesthetics and comfort, Invisalign opens the door for patients that normally would not seek treatment.

Dr. Grace Kim
Dr. Kim grew up in Poughkeepsie, New York. She attended college at Princeton University just a few hours down the road from her home town. She graduated from Princeton cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. Before enrolling in Dental School, Dr. Kim took an opportunity to live in Korea and teach AP US History at a foreign language high school.
After returning from Korea, Dr. Kim moved to Boston where she attended the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree in 2013. Combined with her previous teaching experience and her interest in educational reform, she wrote her graduation thesis on the changing dental education in Korea and its impact in the future. Following Harvard, she went on to receive her Masters of Science degree as a dental specialist in orthodontics at Columbia University. During her residency, she treated a diverse patient population, learning from the leaders in craniofacial abnormalities, and trained with the newest technological advancements in orthodontics from various bracket systems to Insignia and Invisalign. In NYC, Dr. Kim learned a lot with phase I, early treatment, but believes in a conservative approach to allow "Mother Nature to take its course." She recommends seeing your child early though to create a baseline and monitor them for the most appropriate time to start their orthodontic treatment. Throughout treatment, Dr. Kim wants comfort and aesthetics to be paramount while providing efficient, safe and precise movements of your teeth.
Today, Dr. Kim is an active member in the American Association of Orthodontics, the American Dental Association, and various study clubs. In 2015, she participated in the AAO's Emerging Leaders Conference.
Experience With New Technology
Our practice is built on creating the ideal solution for your specific orthodontic needs.
Technology, "Our practice is built on creating the ideal solution for your specific orthodontic needs. Together we will develop a treatment plan that can be based on any of the orthodontic technologies that we have available. In addition to using the right technique/technology for your teeth, we want to offer you the shortest possible time in treatment on your way to your perfect smile! - Randy Kunik, DDS"
If there is a new product available for aligning teeth you want your doctor to know about it. Advances in CAD/CAM have made it possible for new technologies like Invisalign removable clear plastic aligners to make micro precision tooth movements available to the doctor without having to use metal wires and brackets. Invisalign aligners have evolved into the preferred orthodontic appliance of patients and doctors. But not all doctors are specialists. Kunik Orthodontics only practices orthodontics. Our desire to stay at the forefront of technological advances means that our recommendations are drawing on successful practical experience.
The "Concierge" Approach
Patients Don't Wait
Our Doctors hold daily morning meetings and twice-monthly lunch gatherings for our staff. The goal is to make sure that they always know their role in his “concierge” system of checking patients out while they are still in the chair, which we calls “a customer service breakthrough in the dental field.
Vigorous staff training is a priority of Kunik Orthodontics. In addition to the meetings, team training happens weekly and is a critical part of the practice. You might wonder why we require so much training? According to Dr. Kunik, customers demand it, technology necessitates it, but the rigors of running a business require employees who know what they are doing at all times.
