iTero™ Digital Impressions
Dr. Kunik’s Orthodontic practice in Austin, Texas has raised the bar. No more sitting in a chair with your mouth full of impression material for extended periods of time trying not to gag.
I brought the iTero evolution of intra-oral scanning technology to my practice as soon as I could.
I brought the iTero evolution of intra-oral scanning technology to my practice as soon as I could. We had to make sure that the training for the dental technicians and the complete system and processes worked to my expectations. I had been in conversations with Aligntech since early January 2011 about their partnership with Cadent . The excitement from the Ortho Community over the iTero technology being applied to Invisalign impressions and seamless integration with Clincheck made the Aligntech acquisition of Cadent a no-brainer. We now have the state-of-the-art impression technology seamlessly connected to the finest aligner technology in the world.
State-of-the-Art
iTero is one of those devices that obsolete the previous technology over-night. If you’re currently talking to an Orthodontist, find out when they are switching over to iTero intra-oral scanning. If you don’t want to wait, give Dr. Kunik a call. The Consultation is no cost to you and because we’ve eliminated all the costs of creating a plaster mold of your mouth we’re passing the savings on to you!
More about iTero

The iTero handheld wand takes a digital, 3D image of your prepared teeth, stopping as needed. You can look at the iTero 3D image on the screen in real-time. Now instead of UPS shipping impressions to the lab to be scanned, the digital image is electronically sent to the lab and is available in the Invisalign Clincheck system the next day. The accuracy and detail of the iTero scan vs a putty impression is kind of like watching HDTV over standard definition TV. These digital scans don’t need to be rescanned so by removing the “clay modeling step” we have greatly improved the accuracy.
