Dr. Kunik has even uploaded all of his video commentaries to youtube.com in order to help anyone who might be considering braces. Take advantage of this site and any other information you can find regarding braces. The better informed you are, the more success you will have in improving your smile.
Each individual has their own perfect window of time to begin orthodontic treatment. By bringing your child in to see Dr. Kunik when their permanent teeth are coming in, Dr. Kunik will be able to determine your child's own best interval to start treatment. If you're an adult don't worry, its never too late to improve your smile. As an adult you'll appreciate Dr. Kunik taking the time to explain how braces actually work.
During your first visit you can ask as many questions as you want. This is your opportunity to learn as much as you can from Dr. Kunik about your teeth. So far you may have only gotten feedback from your Dentist. Now you have an opportunity to question someone who only specializes in orthodontics.
You'll have a chance to sample our warm and friendly atmosphere.
Things to be thinking about during your visit:

- If images were taken, were you shown exactly the issue with your teeth?
- How long was the wait?

- Will Dr. Kunik keep your family dentist informed. Even share xrays?

- Did Dr. Kunik seem like he knew what he was talking about?

There is a great quantity of orthodontic information on this website. We hope that you will feel well informed even before your first visit.
Your experience starts with a phone call or by filling out the online form. You'll receive a welcome packet with office information and forms if you haven't already downloaded them from this site.
Next, your free braces consultation. Your appointment will take about 45 minutes to an hour.
You will meet with our treatment coordinator. Once the informational forms have been completed, the treatment coordinator will bring you back to the treatment area. The coordinator will gain a better understanding of your situation and make notes for Dr. Kunik.
Your treatment coordinator will explain various work, exam, and X-ray stations in the office.
The treatment coordinator will brief Dr. Kunik.
Dr. Kunik will then meet with you for your detailed oral examination.
The next activity depends on your individual situation. When you are finished with this step you should have your questions answered and a diagnosis in hand.
One final meeting with the treatment coordinator and you will have all the information from which to make a decision. In some cases where surgery is involved Dr. Kunik will provide the coordination with the other physician.
While a prediction of every event during your visit would be impossible. We hope that the steps above give you a fair characterization of what might happen during your consultation.
